Show live audience questions in OBS Studio
OBS Studio's built-in Browser source renders AskTide's display output with a transparent background, so the question graphic sits on top of your camera or slides.
Step by step
- Create a session. Log in to AskTide and create a session for your stream. Open the session's manage view.
- Copy the display link. Click Share in the manage view and copy the Display view link. It looks like https://www.asktide.com/display/SESSION-ID.
- Add a Browser source. In OBS, click + under Sources, choose Browser, paste the link as URL and set Width 1920 and Height 1080. Leave Custom CSS empty so the background stays transparent.
- Place it above your video. Put the browser source at the top of the source list in your scene so the graphics are drawn over your camera, screen share or slides.
- Put a question on air. Share the audience link or QR code, then mark a question On Air in the manage view. It appears in OBS within a fraction of a second. Mark it Done to take it off.
Tips for OBS
- Turn on "Shutdown source when not visible" only if you want the page to reload each time the scene is shown. Leaving it off keeps the output instantly ready.
- Add the flow grid (/flow/SESSION-ID) as a second browser source for a question wall scene.
- If the graphic looks wrong after a style change, right-click the source and choose Refresh cache of current page.
