### What is AskTide?

AskTide is a web-based live Q&A tool for broadcasts, events and live streams. The audience submits questions from their phones, you curate them, and the selected question appears as a graphic in OBS Studio, vMix or TriCaster.

### Which broadcast software does AskTide work with?

Any software that can show a web page as a source: OBS Studio (Browser source), vMix (Web Browser input), TriCaster (web browser source or NDI), Wirecast, Streamlabs and others. You can also open the display link full screen on a projector.

### Is the background transparent?

Yes. The display, flow grid and live text outputs render on a transparent background at 1920×1080, so only the graphic is shown on top of your video.

### Does the audience need an app or an account?

No. Viewers open the audience link or scan the QR code in any phone browser. Only the person who creates the session needs a free AskTide account.

### How much does AskTide cost?

AskTide is free during the beta, with unlimited sessions and all features. No credit card is required.

### Can someone else moderate the questions?

Yes. Send the moderator link and its password from the Share menu. The moderator sees only the questions and can edit, shortlist and put them on air, without access to the rest of the session.

### Does AskTide do polls?

Yes. Create a poll, open it for voting on the audience page and show the live results on the display output.

### Can AskTide show name tags or lower thirds?

Yes. Create name tags for your speakers, choose a corner and put them on air with one click from the manage view.

### Can I use my own brand colours and fonts?

Yes. Save colours and a font as a theme on your account or team and apply it to a session. Every graphic (questions, polls, name tags, QR code, question wall) picks it up, and you can still adjust each graphic individually.

### What do the question graphics look like?

Choose between a card, a lower third, a ticker, a minimal text style and a full-screen layout. Set the position on screen, width, font size, corner radius, shadow and entrance animation, or add custom CSS.

### Which languages does the audience page support?

The audience page is available in English and Swedish and switches automatically based on the viewer's browser language. Questions can be written in any language.

### Can several people share sessions?

Yes. Create a team, invite colleagues by email and create sessions in the team. Everyone in the team can open and run them.

### Can I control AskTide with Claude or another AI assistant?

Yes. AskTide has an MCP server at https://www.asktide.com/mcp with OAuth login. Once connected, an assistant can list and create sessions, add and move questions, run polls and put name tags or live text on air.

### What is the flow grid?

The flow grid is an output that shows questions from one column as a scrolling wall, for example on a big screen in the room or as a full-screen scene in the stream. It can have a transparent or solid background.

### How fast do questions appear on screen?

Updates are pushed over a live connection, so a question marked On Air appears on the output within a fraction of a second.
